St. Paul's Weekly -
July 5, 2020

This Week at St. Paul's

Welcome Back to Church! Click to see Guidelines for Attending Worship.

Flowers Altar flowers this weekend are in celebration of Laurie & Myrl Olson’s anniversary.  May God continue to guide and strengthen their marriage with Christian love.

July Newsletter/Calendar Info This month we have placed newsletters on the tables for you to pick up a copy if you do not receive it electronically.  The only exception is the ushers: copies of your newsletters are in your mailboxes as your calendar has the usher schedule on it.

Extra Worship Opportunity For those who would prefer a smaller, more socially distant worship service, we are offering a fourth service for Thursday evening, July 9 at 6:30 pm.  We ask you to call to reserve a spot (attendance will be limited to 35), and you are asked to wear a mask (except very young children).  The service will be slightly abbreviated (no singing) with the same liturgy, Bible readings and sermon as next weekend’s services.  Holy Communion will be available.

Worship Schedule Change As we have resumed in-person worship services, there has been an encouraging increase in the number of worshippers in attendance.  For the past few weeks in the 8:00 service we almost did not have enough designated half pews available.  To hopefully alleviate this and to provide more capacity for additional members to resume attending we are adding an extra service on Sunday mornings.  Service times starting Sunday, July 12 will be 8:00, 9:15 and 10:30.  The Saturday service will remain at 4:30.  If you are coming for the 9:15 or 10:30 services, please do not arrive more than fifteen minutes before the service.  This will help ensure that worshippers are not entering and exiting the building at the same time.  We plan to follow this schedule through the end of August and make additional changes as circumstances develop.

Community Back to School Fair This year the Back to School Fair is requesting cash donations that they will use to provide gift cards for lower income families in Winnebago County.  You may designate a gift for this by writing “Back to School” on the fourth line on the weekly offering envelopes.  Gifts for this can be given until July 19th.

Holy Communion If you would like to receive Holy Communion but you are not comfortable attending services in church at this time, you may call Pastor Albrecht to arrange for a time to receive the sacrament privately.

Sovereign State Days Parade is still being planned for Saturday, July 18.  If you would like to walk in the parade and receive a free T-shirt, please sign up by mailboxes or call church office.

St. Paul's T-shirts You can purchase a navy-blue T-shirt with St. Paul's logo and Bible passage for $10. Sign up with size by mailboxes or call church office.  Pictures of shirt are on sign-up sheet.
