Lisa Phillips - Assistant Director and Four-Year-Old Teacher

I grew up in a small town called Wonewoc, about 30 miles west of Wisconsin Dells, where I went to St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School and Wonewoc-Center High School, graduating in 2003. I then graduated from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I taught at Grace Lutheran Elementary School in Oshkosh for 8 years before coming to St. Paul’s in August 2016. I got married in June of 2016 and my husband Justin and I live in Oshkosh with our two cats Turby and R.J. We are also expecting our first child in June 2018.

Fours Classroom

The 4/5 year old classroom will have a lot of focus on kindergarten readiness.  We will focus on learning how to hold our pencils correctly in order to make our letters correctly.  We will learn how to read by focusing on the letter sounds. We will spend time on each letter and get to know what word families are all about.  We will work on patterning, numbers, shapes and graphing in math.  We will also work on routines and social situations.  The added bonus we will have from the 4K program in the public schools is hearing God's Word and applying it to our lives.  We will have a busy schedule in our preschool room, doing a regular preschool program.
